What can i say about this forced-down-your-throat-classic. It’s a classic. whether you like it or not. I didn’t watch the show, so i can’t comment on whether it’s suited to follow the series… however, friends tell me it is. And I’ve heard enough about the show from female friends that I could follow the general plotline and know the main characters. Not by name mind you… but i know their faces, and the personalities they represent on the show.
I felt the movie was pretty much a 2.5 hr long tv show. But a good one. It wasn’t so much funny, as practical, realistic and charming. Nothing was cheesy or over the top. Every portrayal seemed realistic and natural.
The only complaint… and it’s a big one. Man are they getting old. Everyone on the show looks like they got one foot in the grave. I guess it’s natural and they were honest in the whole “happy 50th Birthday!” party at the end…. they are older. and it’s true, even middle aged people have drama and sex… but what’s the target audience of this show? I felt that 40/50 year olds shouldn’t act that way…. not the movie… the whole premise…. Mr. Big…. is what a mature adult should be like. the women of the show…. seemed more like 18 year olds stuck in 50 year old bodies. Or…. is the point of the show that that’s really how women want to be? Dear lord, I hope not. If so… I might as well just start dating 20 year olds…. why bother with “maturity”?
good movie though. well played.
7 out of 10. only cause i’m not the target audience and it didn’t ring any true bells for me.
