Oh boy… to put it bluntly… I was disappointed in this movie.
I have to say, Michael Bay is an AMAZING action director. This movie is packed to the rim with almost 3 hours of the biggest explosions and cool stunts you can imagine. There’s SO much action that about 2 hours into the movie you might start getting a headache and feeling dizzy from how the camera NEVER stops moving and spinning and throwing angles left and right.
Unfortunately, a good action…. Is not always a good movie. I’ve always told myself…. “why do Hollywood directors mix the genres in movies?” there’s enough of a fan base for Hollywood movies that if you produce a movie in one genre… but do it well… such as action… making it 100% full throttle action… you’ll get enough viewers to spend money and be happy. My biggest complaint with the MATRIX movies were that they TRIED to put in a story when all I wanted was 2 hours of butt kicking action….
I was proven wrong. Oh how wrong I was.
Main characters die…. In this movie. Main characters fall in love… they feel pain.
What did I feel?
Nothing. The angles are far… or off… the dialogue is weak… the acting is mediocre….
And just… in general… every character feels plastic.
Except for Optimus Prime. Good job on him… and props to the voice acting…
Good for them to bring Peter Cullen back for the voice work on Optimus Prime…..
Except for that… the movie sucked. I’d put this BELOW Fantastic Four…. And I actually liked Fantastic Four.
Is this movie worth seeing? If you like Transformers… yes. It’s GREAT action and cinematography.
I’d say 6.5/10 …. Maybe a 7….
