Blindness stars Jillian Moore as the only person in a world where everyone has gone blind. overnight.
By some miracle she is able to see, where the rest of the world has been hit by “White Sickness”
It’s called this because the symptom is a feeling of bright white light… as opposed to normal blindness…. where most people would see darkness.
This movie is absolutely AMAZING. It has an incredibly moving plot, the twists are subtle but incredibly surprising… simply because so many things happen where we would NEVER imagine it to be this way.
A small group of blind travelers…. huddled together… walking through an alley…. one of them… breaks from the huddle… and walks left… from far away… it’s obvious to the audience that he is walking into danger…. a group of kids throwing rocks randomly at a wall to hear the sound…. they hit him… while the original huddle group keeps walking… oblivious. How can they just let their friend wander off and die? simple. they don’t know. even though he is right next to them.
this movie exemplifies what human greed, selfishness, and kindness means….
The acting is superb. the characters are well thought out and distinct…. each plays a role and has a realistic but special personality that the movie calls upon….
the other interesting thing is that the city in which this movie plays is undefined. Everyone speaks with an american accent… but the cars have european style license plates….
