What is an emulator you ask? Well, in a gaming environment, an emulator is basically a software that runs on top of your OPERATING SYSTEM (windows/linux/mac osx) and this software tries to “translate” code coming from different sources.
A Nintendo Emulator would take code from a Nintendo game, and translate into something Windows understands and can play on your computer. thus, you can play Nintendo games on your PC. via the keyboard or an attached controller.
There are emulators for gameboys, nintendo, atari, even the old playstation…. one only. 2… well there are but a bit more difficult….
What about the PS3? surely people would LOVE to run an emulator so they could play PS3 games on their computer for free….
well the problem is the hardware. To run a nintendo emulator… you know the old FAMICOM system? you need a PC that’s strong enough to run the windows system as well as the nintendo games. so the hardware needs to be at least that strong. Not normally a problem. However, the issue lies more in the newer systems. See, the Nintendo system was weak to begin with, by today’s standards.
The PS3? Not so weak. It runs multiple cores (the chip can split into 11 cores, I believe). A very advanced graphics system, as well as a blu-ray player. A PC that can do that… well nearly $12,000. Then you’d have the question of whether it could run BOTh the windows and PS3 stuff!?!?!?!
My point being… stop looking for emulators for the PS3, and just buy a PS3 if you want the games. It’ll be cheaper
What’s this rant coming from? Don’t’ know. Just came in my head. Wanna fight about it?
Is my PC too yowai to play PC game..? Not like your shooting game… but like..puzzle game… like “Little Big Plant”…I’m just thinking that because… I don’t have PS3 YET 🙂 (I don’t wanna play PS3 with that my old TV…) so if I can get some PC game, it would be fun! 🙂
