So when i first decided to travel and work outside the country, while my dad was still alive… He was very upset. He worked so hard to bring us to the USA. In his mind, america was the land of opportunity. the golden standard… the final goal of paradise that all people go to.
All the people from the rest of the world wanted to be in america in the 1990s. America was rich, good life, international, strong, and my father worked VERY VERY hard to get us here. All of us. almost 80 people were relocated from Eastern Europe (romania and hungary) to USA by my father’s direct financing and help.
So when his son said “I’m leaving america…”…. his heart was broken. But what i saw… in 1999… was not the paradise he spoke of. I saw a country that was starting to wage war as a means of desperately keeping their financials alive and their people in fear. I saw a country of lazy youths, ignorant adults, and uncultured morons. This exists in any economy… BUT… the richest, hardest working country in the world… HAS NO RIGHT to have such people… and yet… here it is. 2008… and this country is filled with more imbeciles and idiots filling the voting booths than any other country in the world. The wealthy SHOULD be held to a higher standard in order to have their power. But now that the economies of the world are equalizing and balancing out… what america worked to create… a global capitalism is taking hold.
All the countries abroad are becoming competitive. and what’s the result? americans cannot compete! they are losing drastically. their products suck, their education sucks, their students are lazy, and their views are too conservative without an ounce of forward thinking. They are stuck in the past. Like a football player in his 40s who works at a convenience store… dreaming of his youthful football stardom… which never materialized.
What’s the point of all this? We will see more and more people leaving the country. For the past 100 years you have people rushing the american borders trying to come in. Now you have the dollar falling drastically… jobs going abroad… and now… people will leave this forsaken soil behind.
Today i read an article on CNN.com about families having troubble in the USA…. and this one struck my eyes as particularly interesting….
Desk attendant, Dayton, OH
I am facing my college loans and my low-wage job and the fact that I will not be able to send my own daughter to college.
All I want is full-time work that actually pays the bills. My family hasn’t been on a vacation in three years. We don’t go to the movies or even rent movies. I went to college and did the right thing and here I am in my 30s contemplating reenlisting in the military for money.
Something needs to be done in the country. My daughter said to me the other day, “Why bother going to college Mom? You have a great degree, from a great college and it means nothing. I think I might move out of the country.”
