I went to a boxing fight tonight. A friend of mine’s friend fought. I think he was supposedly a muai thai fighter, then stopped for 7 years… now at the age of 32 wanted to get back into it… so started fighting again… boxing.
It was very exciting of course. to see two people put on gloves, and smash each other’s faces in while people scream and cheer.
What was interesting, was that the two sides..
Our side… was about 20 people… supporting this friend. We were mostly educated professionals, cheering for a guy who is also well educated, and just loves fighting… he trained and was really an underdog in this case…
the other side? a room full of 300 Hell’s Angels bikers… big necks, steroids, tattoes…. as one guy mentioned… a VERY low TTR ratio. TTR is Teeth to Tattoo Ratio. means less teeth for lots of tattoos… makes people dangerous. So the opponent? not only was he part of this group… he was the VICE PRESIDENT!!! so… if our guy won… we were scared we might have to run out of the building … scary to have all those people upset if we won….
yet of course… we supported him… AND HE WON!! the other side was actually very nice..
then mohawk fighter came out… all tattooed for the next fight… and kept headbutting and cheating in the follow up fight! good thing our friend wasn’t in that one!!
