FAQ : What do those numbers mean in Class1/2/3..6 armor?
Answer – The number itself represents a factor for which pen Value / damage/ Frag chance/Armor Damage percent & frag damage are all correlated. but in most cases, the way you want to look at this number is :
7 – [that number] based on Class you wearing = Bullets *likely* needed to wreck you, while wearing armor…
example : 9×19 PST gzh round vs Class 2 armor. it’s got the number ‘6’. that means (7-6=1)… so 1 bullet will pretty surely penetrate and go right through the armor…
now look at class 3… that has ‘2’ for the same ammo. so (7-2 = 5)… meaning it’ll take roughly 5 bullets to finally penetrate the armor.
FAQ2 : that seems convoluted. why not just have the straight numbers of how many rounds needed?
Answer – cause the number is a correlation of a MUCH MUCH larger calculation that applies to multiple variables. the example is a huge oversimplification. it’s not exactly true that 9×19 PST gzh will 100% guarantee penetrate and wreck the armor on the first shot. There’s a chance still that it won’t penetrate… might fragment…. also might do different types of damage to the rest of the armor (number also relates to how the body damage will occur behind the armor too for blunt trauma).
