Why we voted Trump in 2020 – but you shouldn’t

For the past few months, we’ve been watching the election and the current political climate.  It’s 2020, there’s a pandemic.  A virus. Economy going downhill.  People anxious… divided… tension.  Riots.  Ammo is out of stock and overpriced everywhere.  My wife and I vote as one – my vote is the one that registers as I’m a citizen and she is a green card holder…. So …. We agreed that our vote would be done as a mix of both of our values as a family… and I would cast a vote based on what we both feel is best for our future.

We voted Trump.  And we didn’t like it.  Both had to take showers after.  Partly cause felt disgusting… partly cause that voting poll area was disgusting.  Don’t wanna get the coof.

Over the past few months we’ve been consistently on Biden’s side.  Even debated Jo Jorgenssen with the Libertarian party.  I associate with libertarians… but felt ultimately, what the country needs… today…. Is an end to the divide.

More than ever, this nation needs a voice that will unite the people and compromise and work together. Understanding both sides.

Joe Biden proposed such a voice.  We liked it.  The policies proposed, advertisements, and first political debate… he looked right at the camera…. Unlike that orange orangutan … and said “how many of you had to talk to a loved one about to die… through a cell phone… cause you couldn’t get into the room while they lay there dying of Covid19?”.  That spoke to us.  Right in the feels.  We loved it.  This man; we thought, is the voice of compromise.  He plans to work to unite all people.  No matter beliefs.  He will bridge the gap.

Meanwhile, Trump, like his usual moronic self … kept saying the wrong thing. Insighting rage. Anger.  Everything out of that man’s mouth, makes me want to punch something.  I feel that’s what many people feel.  He couldn’t unite peanut butter and bread… let alone a nation.

Then…. The second debate happened.  It went ok.  But we noticed something…. While it was more tame….Trump was being his usual dumb self – yelling and hollering and making a ruckus.  This man clearly doesn’t waste time preparing for important events.  Then it happened.  Biden looked at the camera.  He started… “how many of you had to talk to a loved one about … through a cell phone… cause you couldn’t get into the room while they lay thee dying of COVID19?”…. and again.  And again.  We heard him repeating the same things over and over again.  At first… nothing wrong with that. He’s got his points.  They are valid.  And doesn’t change the context.  But we noticed – he kept answering questions in a way that it had to fit in his narrative.  He wasn’t adapting.  He was forcing his rhetoric and narrative into the questions…. Regardless if they applied or not…. It was like he was picking the  “closest enough” thing in his plans…. That hit the points of the question.  Sure, trump didn’t answer squat. He just kept mud slinging.   But…. Something triggered in us.  We started looking at Biden’s policies again… from the concept that – he won’t be able to adapt.  Sure he’ll compromise…. Where he needs to… but he won’t be able to adapt to the needs of a constantly changing society.  He was still talking about masks being needed. …. Which sure… we agree…. But not once did he explain HOW he’ll implement a nationwide mandate.  You have americans that will go to WAR with guns over their “right” to spread the disease and get you sick.  How will biden compromise there? How will Biden meet in the middle there?

You see – whether you like it or not… the rednecks… the extremists… the BLM… the KKK…. The Blue Lives… the thin red line… QANON … etc. whatever group you wanna look at…. They are still (as of right now) – law abiding , tax paying citizens… that need to be accounted for.  And as tax paying, voting americans… need to be adapted to.  Karen’s – for all their entitled BS – are still tax paying American voters that have rights.

Until you remove those rights… if you wanna unite and compromise… you have to include ALL OF THEM.

That’s when it hit us.  Biden won’t succeed.  It’s not his fault.  He’s got the right idea.  It’s that americans won’t change.  Americans won’t compromise their own ways of life.  Americans… are… americans.

All Americans won’t all unanimously wear a mask.

All Americans won’t give up their guns.

All americans won’t social distance

All americans won’t value LGBTQ

All Americans won’t respect each other.

All americans won’t be one voice.

All americans won’t respect each others’ different political stances.

So if you remove the ability to unite … because we don’t have faith it will happen…. And that was THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect to vote for him…. If that’s removed – and again – we get that’s what he stands for…. It’s just that our lack of faith in the American people – removes that as a strength for Biden.

So then we have to review policies and what we think will play out.  Unlike Biden – Trump doesn’t really have an outlined plan.  He has a campaign promise site… but it’s all unrealistic BS he won’t ever accomplish.  Biden’s is MUCH more laid out and clear … and realistic (again… realistic in a sane society.  The clusterf#ck that is America right now… is because of americans.  NOT a single person in power)

But – while we don’t know the future – we made some guesses based on history and what they have stated.  here’s what we valued :

  1. Uniting the Nation (100 Points)
    1. Biden hands down wins this one… except that amerians themselves wont’ listen to him. See above.
    2. Trump is a moron. He can’t unite squat
    3. Trump – 30
    4. Biden – 70
  2. China and International Policy (100 points)– This was the second most critical. What we wanted was for USA and the WORLD to remove dependency on China and for CCP to lose power.
    1. Trump’s tariffs don’t do squat. He’s just poking them and getting them to make allies abroad more.
    2. With China you have 3 options
      1. Start an all out war. With violence. Unrealistic and dangerous
      2. Befriend china… sell out. Sucks long term… but usa could have a good 20 years of riches.
      3. Focus on allies. Infrastructure building abroad in other countries.  Spend money, building out our alliances and helping them advance… with stipulation they betray china.  This was what we hoped Biden would propose.  He didn’t.  Further…. We felt with what’s going on in USA… the Senate and public wouldn’t take kindly to USA spending trillions to build out Africa and Thailand and Vietnam infrastructure… while americans are suffering.
    3. So….. that left us with Trump… poking them…. While this sucks… it’s a thing we know and he’s been doing… and we are prepared to work with. (ie move to china)
    4. Example – recently, Thailand has been having riots and protests. Their king has left and the country is going through military revolution.  Thailand being a developing economy and a central textile manufacturing hub… a smart country would jump in and offer to help them govern, pay off their debts, and help “manage” their government…. Golden opportunity for USA.  Did they? Nope.  China did.
    5. Example 2 – china has been systemically loybbying and paying for universities in usa and abroad to reclassify Koreans as Chinese ethnics. They are slowly working to soft power expand influence and take over.  Slow, methodic steps.
      1. China’s plans span 200 years. USA operates in 4 year terms.  Max 8 years.  We don’t have time to “negotiate” when the next president can unwind everything
      2. Biden’s plans , and while with Obama – has traditionally been – keep allies close – and threaten enemies. Biden doesn’t see China as a mortal enemy.  Biden sees North korea as an enemy
        1. We half agree with him. Thing is we have family in south korea.  Trump’s way of being buddy buddy with kim jong un… has yielded in a more “calm” lil’kim.  Obama escalated and almost brought us to brink of War.  Both japan and S.Korea have preferred Trump’s way… not that he’s good… just… his way has de-escalated things… slightly.
      3. All options are bad and both candidates suck. But Biden would befriend china, while smaller conflicts would escalate.  (like Korea).  Both of those suck … HORRIBLY.  Trump… while crappy… and pushes us farther from allies… would also yield less small conflicts.  And leave room for us peasants to continue making business decisions that benefit us.
    6. Trump – 45
    7. Biden – 55
  1. Business Regulations (100 points) – Trump overall results in less regulation. We don’t like the feds meddling and regulating as much as they do.  We could go all day around this. But this is a 200 year old topic.  We just don’t like democrat party regulations.  And Kamala Harris and what she did with California is an excellent example of what we DON’T want.
    1. Most important is the recent monopoly investigation in the Big Tech industry. We wholeheartedly believe this is wrong.  Feds need to NOT bite the hand that feeds them.  USA Tech industry funds approx.. 20% of the entire nation’s GDP.  Stop biting the hand that feeds you and start fostering growth and innovation.  They are not monopolies, and both republicans and democrats are morons with this investigation.
      1. That being said…. Republicans are likely to be a tiny bit more relaxed in their findings. Trump gets this one from us.
    2. Trump – 75
    3. Biden – 25
  2. Gun rights and 2A (100 points) – we actually are not 2A “rights” folks. We enjoy guns and shooting. But we grew up abroad.  We don’t have it in our brain that 2A is a “right”.  But sure… we’ll take it. And while we here, with neighbors having guns… then we’ll have guns too.  When in Rome, as they say.  Fundamentally – we are ok if there’s a unanimous decision to ban ALL GUNS.
    1. However,…. Americans won’t accept that. There’ll be civil war.  Impossible to do.  So forget the banning of all guns.
    2. If you not gonna ban all… then feds need to mind their business and stop meddling. The 2A guarantees our right to protect ourselves from government interference.  If they making laws restricting our right… I don’t feel the feds are “scared” of us.  So it’s weird to me.  The whole point of 2A is to make sure our leaders are scared of the people.
    3. Anyway, Biden- has a clustermuck of a plan… banning standard sized magazines…. Banning “assault “ looking sem-auto rifles…. Banning pistols that “weigh” more than 8 lbs…. stopping online ammo sales . a gun “buyback” (which we estimated would hit nearly $3trillion…. Keep in mind Covid in 2020 cost $8trillion.  This is almost half… just to buy back guns).
      1. The problem with these are that – none of these would just get implemented.
      2. We’d be ok if you could just pass them laws and everyone is “ok”. But the reality is people would fight tooth and nail… and it would cost an insane amount. In litigating, advertising, conflict, protests…. Just… everything involved… not to mention the paperwork and admin stuff to enforce it….
      3. So— yeah. It’s not that we against the plans. It’s that we DO NOT support any time or money spent on it.  Definitely not our tax dime.  And yeah, ideally I’d prefer these proposals just disappear.
      4. Trump is no 2A supporter. he’s done some janky stuff (cough, silencer bans)… but he also doesn’t actively pursue or push for spending time and money on these fronts.  he lets things sit as they are.  compared to alternative… that’s a massive pro.  especially when it comes to tax $$$$ spent.
      5. Trump – 90
      6. Biden – 10
  1. Pandemic / COVID19 (100 points) – We aren’t too worried right now about Covid itself. We believe a vaccine is coming, and people are set in their ways.  Medical facilities are there… and God helping… if we get sick I hope we survive it.  What we ARE worried about is the future.  The next pandemic.  We don’t argue that Trump messed this up.  Yeah it was China’s fault… sure… but Trump did NOT handle this the best.  Though… I wouldn’t say he was the worst either.  Americans choose to not wear masks.  Japanese been wearing masks for 100 years… with no government mandating anything.  The people have been themselves…. Focusing on wrong things.  When the stimulus came out… everyone jumped on paying their loans… instead of investing in healthcare and doing things to take care of their health.  That’s society’s issue in this country.  Trump is a representation of American bad behavior… but he’s not the only bad actor.  We are all to blame here.  But yeah.. as a leader… he messed this up.
    • The issue however, is that it’s almost over… at least the worst is behind us… we believe. A vaccine will come…. And this virus will likely subside by 2022.  The bigger problem is the next pandemic.
    • Virus outbreaks and pandemics are getting more frequent. Over the past 200 years they have been speeding up to where we are about to have one every 2 years.  What will we do when this is a regular thing?
    • Trump basically wants us to pretend it’s not a thing… and everyone is on their own.
      1. Pros – this would open economy up and allow business to boom.
      2. Cons – won’t prepare us for next pandemic
    • Biden wants us to conservatively, and sectionally lock down. Wear masks.
      1. Pros – this would prep us for long term fighting of pandemics.
      2. Cons – this would short term impact our economy badly.
    • Neither is great… the past is the past…. And luckily tech and business supercedes anything the president can do
    • Trump – 40
    • Biden – 60
  2. Green Energy (100 points) – we do believe in global warming, recycle, and have concerns about animal rights.Though not our greatest fear in 2020… we know it’s important long term.
    1. Biden has a more ideal long term approach.He didn’t commit to concrete action plans to stop the wildfires or pollution… but we got the feeling he’d be friendly to green tech companies… which means jobs there.
    2. Trump…. Not so focused on this… long term. But he does have action plans for short term (like hiring people to pick up twigs in the forest hahaha).Yeah sounds crazy but his ideas…. While short sighted… policing and enforcing nature parks… would help in the short term.  (literally the fires coming again in cali in 12 months)
      1. We don’t like trump’s constant trying to bring back coal and oil jobs. Cut that out.We don’t want gas cars.
    3. Luckily… long term… companies and capitalism removes Biden’s steam here. Tesla and EV’s moving off coal manufacturing is coming to a close.Regardless of president.  But… just wishing for green and promoting long term goals … won’t stop the fires in 12 months.  Hoses, water, rangers, and enforcement will help.
    4. For outlined reasons… to us… both are just about even.
    5. Trump – 45
    6. Biden – 55
These were the things that were routinely focused and expressed in debates, interviews, and discussions.   These are the things that mattered to us, and represented in the media to us and our history.

 

Let me be clear; we voted on policies we felt are more realistic to play out.  We do NOT like Trump.  In fact, we aren’t fans of Biden either.  We liked Andrew Yang.  We donated to Yang’s campaign… then to Biden’s campaign.  ZERO donations to Trump.  I’m sure you can look through and poke your holes.  and if we spend time and work together… we’ll poke holes in your logic. it’s a never-ending cycle.  this was why. move on.  we all miss things.  that’s why one person doesn’t decide everything.  we each focus on what we can.  so take what you wish from this, and go focus on your priorities and vote accordingly.

Your values, and priorities are likely different.  We STRONGLY urge you to look at both candidates’ plans, on their sites – and vote on what you think will actually come to pass.  Vote for your priorities. and where the chips land… we will stand by that.  As a part of this nation.  That IS the system. And it has to work.  Without it… this is no longer America.

 

You have your own interpretations of what may happen, and honestly…. Nothing would please us more than if EVERYONE voted for Biden.  Because that would say… finally… America is united.  Uniting the nation was our top priority, and that was destroyed based on the last debate for us.

 

See, I’m Romanian.  I grew up nihilist.  I can completely like one thing… but put my investment in another thing…. Regardless of whether I like it or not.  If I feel these policies are what I value and stand for – that’s on me.  You will have different ones.

This is what it means to be a country (USA) that allows immigrants with different backgrounds to come here and vote.  Inclusion.  That’s what you get. Haha.

 

America and the people in this great land – have shown us – that there will be no united nation.  Prove us wrong.

 

Oh and to the folks that start screaming about – but you don’t value XYZ?!?!? Or…. You put a weird focus on XYZ topic…. Yeah.  We know.

And to the folks that wanna complain we are not valuing what matters to you – where were you the past 40 years?  You had 40 years to be a part of my life and hold my hand and guide me to convince me of what should matter.  You weren’t there… just like my mom and dad weren’t.  so maybe just accept that’s how things are… people are different and value different things.

That’s again…. Why we have diversity.  You chose to allow us into this country, made us a part of it.  This is how diversity plays out.  You don’t like it?  Maybe start removing people’s rights to vote.  But then you won’t be America, will you?  So quit bitching and get out there and vote.  In fact, Vote Biden!  Please.

And lastly – for those bitching and complaining how i’m trashing trump – you got my vote.  that’s all you get.  Capitalism.  that was the cost of my vote.  now I get to bitch and complain about the shitty person we put in office.  voting for him has earned me the right to trash talk our president.  unless you support communism… where citizens can’t say squat about their leader.  you’re not a Commie… are you?
