Went jogging during the Thai new year…. SONGKRAN….. Man did I get soaked! They are relentless…. Gym was closed… So i ended up taking the kayak out for a row to one of the islands nearby…..
After a dinner at a nearby spa (Zama rooftop restaurant)…. Went high up into the mountains and made a new Mongolian friend… Came back to my villa and had some drinks by the pool at night. Apparently this girl had been stuck up in the mountains in one of the nice villas for 2 months without any human contact… She went ahead and started using tinder and took a risk to go meet a total strange man… Likely due to her being bored out of her mind stuck up there in the mountains. So we spent a good hour or two talking about similar words in Mongolian and Romanian that come from Russia…. Like pizda, tovarăși, gura, prost, noroc…
One thing that I learned that blew my mind…. Mongolia and North Korea have a similar level of standard of living…. And for all the crap people say about Kim Jung Un…. Why is it that Mongolia has 200 parliament leaders, which are supposedly educated and wealthy… Yet they can’t do better than a 30 year old, spoiled dictator. If you think Kim Jung Un is corrupt… What does that say about 200 Mongolian parliament leaders and their democratic capitalist ways?
