this is a very short book, and done quite well…. i’d say go through it twice at least to get a proper feel for what the author is conveying. the tone is very clean and generally follows a highly analytical approach.
for those whom might inquire, the book covers the concept of “bullshit” and how it exists in society. why it exists, what use it has, and what social implications it has. it’s a bit wordy, and i had to google some of the meanings of words the author used… but generally the concepts are clean and well communicated.
The best part of the book that i’d say we can take away is this :
an Honest man and a Liar have one thing in common. They BOTH care about the truth. one chooses to expose it, while the other tries to hide it. opposite ends of the spectrum. Bullshitters, on the other hand, choose to ignore the truth completely, and are solely motivated by getting to their goals…. what they say can be true or not. it doesn’t matter.
